Her long hair flows back

In the sweet-smelling breeze

She runs like the wind

Then falls to her knees

She couldn’t be happier

In the warm country air

With winter gone

Her feet are bare

She wiggles her toes

In the fresh green grass

Her heart is soaring

She gives no more sass

She wears two-inch shorts

And a short-sleeved tee

She’s smiling for once

Buzzing like a bee

This season brings love

And freedom is near

Thank the Lord

That summer’s here.

As soon as the warm weather got into my city, I got this rush of excitement and immediately bought shorts, scheduled road trips, and planned some outdoor summer parties. I think most people get this rush as well when the first signs of summer come.
