Many Happy Returns
The Years have abandoned their playful game with Time
And now collaborate – and march in time, evenly,
 Steadily, determinedly. I sit back
And watch them pass, marveling at their order,
Remembering how I’d watch them play –
Sometimes racing and jumping in white blurs,
Othertimes lazing around in the sun of Eternity.
But now they’ve grown, as I have –
Those days of carefree play seem eons ago
rather than years. My eyes linger
On Time’s stately form, as I watch –unseen – as
He and his old friend pass me and march over the hill.
Oh the memories! Oh the lessons!
Another year of Life passed –
Another come for me to claim.
