Sorrow's Lullaby
“Tomorrow,”
you say
as you lie in your bed
with sheets up over your head.
“Tomorrow
light will find some way
and all this ache will go away
and I will be free of sorrow.”
But I’m sorry my child.
Stay in the warmth of your bed
with sheets up over your head
because Tomorrow,
Tomorrow can only dawn as dark as today.
