How loud must I scream
Before my voice is heard
And Truth comes charging through
Behind the cavalry of Understanding?
How many tears must I shed
Before Honesty is acknowledged
And you realize all I’ve said is in remorse
For my disgraceful actions?
How many times can I say “I’m sorry”
Before Time and Repetition wear them out
And Ears no longer hold them
As sincere penitence for the past?
How many times can I say “I’m sorry”
Before you say “I forgive you”?
