The clock keeps ticking, ticking, ticking.
Each tick, a whip, sets my ears ringing.
I close my mind,
Withdraw myself,
From the clocks infernal ticking.
But still I hear it resonate.
I feel my heart quickening.
Why cruel fate?
Such pain to great.
The noise I hate
Keeps ticking, ticking, ticking.
