I look out- a vast expansion
Skyline stitched in a sea of black
One road to anywhere, moving on
From light to light to light
The faint rumble, brighter headlights
Shifting shapes in a sea of black
Take us by surprise, playing catch up
One after the next after the next
All clear, the world is ours again
Seeing stars in a sea of black
The sleeping go back to their slumber
All’s quiet on the western front
