Committed
Committed
Committed you and I,
I'm a fish who learned to fly,
and you're a bird who learned to swim.
And you dove right from the start,
from the sky into my heart
and filled a space that was longing to be filled.
A fish with gills, but I could breathe!
A bird with wings could swim a thousand feet!
Was it meant to be these creatures crossed each other's path?
Two different types from two different places.
We swam and flew with no destinations,
but the magic we created made worth it all the waiting.
For I learned the virtue of patience
and the truth of an old saying that
distance makes the heart grow fonder.
And as the time stretched on longer,
I realized we were headed somewhere after all:
We were flying, swimming, soaring, diving somewhere into love.
