Tormenting Happiness
As you walk by,
 A single smile,
 Brightens my day.
 Not directed at me.
 Not directed at laughter.
 It's clearly affection
 From you to another.
 Standing at a distance.
Now my heart is feeling weak
 But remembering that smile
 Some joy begins to leak.
 For loving is love
 Even when not returned.
 But loving anothers happiness
 Even at your own pain.
