Mirrors
How can a reflection be both a blessing and a curse?
Like a mirror in a fun house portraying a distorted image –
except there’s no amusement
We see ourselves one way
but we never seem to believe
The glass seems to chuckle at our
…confusion?
Mind and mirrors
– mischievous in their practices
Parents and peers
– contradicting in their words
From a best friend
to a worst enemy
the line between satisfactory wavers
with each glimpse of how we see ourselves.
Not for the heart on the inside;
for the body trapping it
