They say to write about what you know.
But where's the fun in that??
If I was to write about what I know,
You'd end up listening
To a fourteen-year-old-nerd
prattle on about her nonexistent life,
her failing love relationship,
her friends that act like frienemies,
her complex musical life,
how she can't do a perfect pirouette in dance class,
how she can't quite get up on the box in pointe class,
how she's too lazy to exercise and wants to get back down to 100 pounds and lose the two handfuls of squishy sticking out,
her love of all words,
and her perfect family,
the un-divorced family,
with only one little sister,
with parents who love each other
and are creepily perfect for each other.

People who are famous for writing about what they know usually experienced
something like:
a divorce
no friends
a seemingly-good boyfriend who dumped you
the no musical talent whatsoever
binging
STD's
or just
problems
problems
problems!!

But even the perfect girl

has

problems.

I am really stressed.

I am really depressed right now.

I don't know why.

Have you ever felt like everyone is always pushing you to always do your best, and if you slip up even just a little bit, they get on your case that you're not giving your all and you need to step up your game and set a good role model for others who aren't doing so good?
Have you ever felt like that for months and months that stretch into years and years?

But you never realized that you were feeling that

until yesterday?

I'm writing about what I know.

What I know is that even though
I'm far from popular
many people think I'm perfect
because I can
draw
dance
play music
read well
write well
sing well
and various other things.

But even the
Semi-Perfect Girl
Has
A
Few
Slip-Ups
