Grounded
I have a hole in my chest,
It won’t heal though I try my best.
She took my spot,
And you just left me to rot.
You said you didn’t want to hurt me,
But I’m broken, can’t you see?
Our attraction was instantaneous,
Despite the obstacles, for me you fought like Aeneas.
I took a leap,
My trust given to you to keep.
Then out of the blue,
Everything changes without giving me a clue.
I’m glad you found the girl you really like,
I hope you both soar like a kite.
But I’ll be stuck on the ground,
Trying to heal without uttering a sound.
