If I was a telegraph
I don't think I'd stop.
Just one run-on sentence
of dashes and dots.
I'd be read by honest Abe
and maybe spit in his eye
for making hard-working Americans
Believe his lies
I'd travel in an instant
A signal on the wire.
Maybe a telegraph labeled
Urgent or Dire
Not a letter or a text
An email or phone call
Just a tiny telegraph
Going faster than the mini ball.
