the girl

in the mirror
i look to see
the one he sees
is not me
what am i supposed to be?
i think of the girl
that sat in the truck
and sang while driving through- endless muck
tree branches that the girl did duck
on her walks without much luck
i remember the girl
who walked through the town, ran around
with the so-called "friends" she found
and to mischief she was bound
until the day, in her guilt, almost drowned
