Dear Mandy,
I haven't forgotten about you,
I still remember.
Do you remember me?
I have changed a lot since you left.
I'm no longer a child.
I'm 17 now, old yes I know.
Are you watching me from above?
Are you proud?
I know I've made mistakes,
I said things I shouldn't have.
I'm trying. I really am.
I need your help, can you guide me?
I need your advice, can you give it to me?
I need you here. But you can't I know.
10 years and it's still hard.
How's life up there?
Did you meet a lot of people?
How's Grandpa? And Nancy? What about our dog Mo-Jo is he okay?
We are managing down here.
Please don't forget about us, promise?
We miss you and love you.
One day we will all be together again.
Write back.
With love, your little sister McKenzie

My oldest sister Mandy passed 10 years ago. She was 13 when she died. She had spina-bifada, which is where your born with an open spine. She was paralyzed from the waist down. She could not walk and was in a wheel chair. She had a shunt in the back of her head that moved the fluid from her brain to her spine back and forth. On February 19 2003 her shunt stopped working. The fluid on her brain killed her, she was only 13. She is my guardian angel, and I decided to write to her even though shes gone I think she can still read them. :)
