Putting On Masks
Shedding a tear,
Even just two or three
Is not an option,
And will never be.
Keeping it buried.
Pushing it deeper below.
Trying to make room,
So I don’t overflow.
Putting on masks,
To hide the real me.
A pained and pathetic child…
I will not let you see.
So here I sit,
A fake smile I wear.
You buy and believe it.
Shows how much you “care”
But why tell the truth?
It will just complicate.
Maybe I’m meant to be miserable.
Maybe it’s just fate…
