"Dance like no one's watching.Sing like no one's listening.Love like you've never been hurt. Live like its heaven on earth." -Mark Twain

When the moon is full
And gleams like a lady's gems
Under the candle haze of a ball
And shines through the warped glass
Of your bedroom window
I beseech you
To face her milky countenance
And rub sleep from your eyes
Behold the beauty of the sky
And its scattered diamonds
Do you recall how they sparkled
Above our entwined hands
And swollen hearts?
Or have you locked away
The bitter dusty memories
In a wooden chest in the attic
Where sweet broken things go to die
And where you rip your own heart out
And toss it like refuse
Into the pail
To go out with the trash
As you turn from the Moon's
Immaculate grace
To the face of your beloved
Does your heart stir
Or your head pound
No
She is substitution
Like oxygen for air
She may sustain you
While I had brought you to life
Like a fateful lightning strike
Setting fire to the cobwebs
But the burn was too bright
Or the warmth too warm
So you cooled it
Rejection and ice
Flinging me to the rims
Of the coldest darkest pit
In hopes death of me would free you
Yet my fingers trace your neck
Biting cold and yet churning flame
Though locked away
Your heart does stir for me
But my heart voices its own scorns
Sealed in burning iron
Folded back in place
Beneath wisdom's scars
Honesty's breastplate
And churning blood and courage
In a most intoxicating concoction
Has swept you from my veins
Your kisses from my face
Your promises shed from my palms
Your spider's webs though rainbow
In dew and daystream
Could not withstand the wind
And storm
It bled like soft feet on glass
And tripped in shredded ribbons
Like sand I am cleanse of you
And while you cannot face beauty
In fear of fickle flower's sting
I may rest in her soothing light
Content in the dark
Glowing in the light
While in corners you must reside
Praying and pleading
For you heart to cease it's shrill call
For my hands and face and promises
Scorched to ash by you
While you writhe in their dust now
And I dance in the Flames
