Stress
Vain to my heart,
 Pumping my blood,

 Get the pressure up

 High.

 Higher.

 A greedy mistress,
 Wanting my everything,
 Taking and Twisting
 What was once

 Good

 Bad

 My life.

 Into it’s little ball,
 A deep gray shadow,
 That obstructs my vision.

 It hates me so much
That it almost becomes my friend.
Always there to add a little nudge,
Has to put in its input.

 Stress must be female.
 For all the

 Nagging

 Pain
 Like little pinpricks
 Constantly reminding me

 “You are gonna fail”
 “Not much time left”
 “Now what will you do?”

 Stress.
 Vain to my heart,
 Pumping my blood.
 The beat of my life.
