My Own Worst Enemy

“You suck.”
“Just stop.”
Ringing in my ears.
“You’re stupid.”
“Give up.”
Bringing on the tears.
Swimming in my mind.
Sinking in my skin.
I do
And am
What they say.
I don’t know why,
But I always seem to be
My own worst
Enemy.

One of the best poems I have read in awhile! This is so true. It does seem like we are our own worst enemies at times. Keep up the good work!
