I believed you when
you said you loved me
I thought you were
telling the truth
why would you lie?
why wouldn't you
be honest as i had
been

We almost had a
love story
but then you let
it go
We had it written 'til
the last page
but then you
broke my heart

We had
perfect lines
perfect pauses
perfect words
and paerfects rhymes

but you let it fall
from your hands
Did you even care?
Did you even notice
when it fell apart?

We almost had a
love story
and we almost had
a happy ending

almost
but not quite
