"Drifting Away"
It must have had a start,
something that had to make a mark on my heart.
I can’t explain or remember it,
only that something caused us to hit.
We’ve had deep thoughts,
but it was the meaningful things we’ve caught.
It just all happened so fast,
and I thought for sure it would all last.
The drifting started,
and we were becoming parted.
The person I know became the person I knew,
and he became one of those worthless people too.
It was nice for a while until it ended,
but I am glad, for my heart is partly descended.
Maybe one day, things will come about,
but until that happens, I have all doubts.
