"Meanings"
The hardest question
 You’ll ever face
Is how to describe your feelings
 When put on the spot
 Minds tend to blank
 And tongues begin to tie
 A war of the heart
 Challenges logical thought
As generic answers over flow from ones mouth
 Until you are left
 Sitting alone
When you finally know what to say
 He is gone
So when faced with the question
 What does it mean
 To “like” someone
Here is what I wish I had said.
 To “like” someone
 Means you care about them
More than just as a friend
 To “like” someone
 Is what you say
 When testing the water
 Before you step in
 To “like” someone
Is the first part of the journey
Down a long road of admiration
 To “like” someone
 Means you care
 About their pain
And you are willing to share their burdens
 To “like” someone
Means You will be there for them
 Regardless of time, or weather
 To “like” someone
 Means you long to be
With them and keep their company
 And desire for their approval
 To “like” someone
 Means it will hurt you
When you have to say goodbye
 To “like” someone
 Means in front of them
 You’re not afraid to cry
 To “like” someone
 Can mean
 So many different things
But I must tell you the truth
 I “like” you
 Is what I say
 When I’m scared to utter
 I love you.
