Coasting on the Coast
Sun is kissing a child's shoulders
Boys are fishing off the boulders
Sand is sifting between my hands
As tiny crabs do their sideways dance

 Moving closer, advancing slightly
Towards a being, oh so mighty
 Gently washing both my feet
 Retreating back only to repeat

I no longer feel a stress
This new friend has caused it to surpress
 I trust this incredible force
And I find that as I leave the sandy shore
Out of me, the pain does pour

A path of seaweed, shells, and sand
leads me toward a far horizon
That welcomes me with loving hands,
 an open heart, and understanding
