I pledge allegiance
To the flag
Of the United States of America
And to the controversial culture for which it stands
One nation, under whatever deity you choose,
Indivisible since 1965,
With liberty and justice for all who can afford a decent lawyer.

I really like the cynical value of this poem. The Pledge is so outdated and untrue. I agree completely with every line of this poem

I am so grateful for all those have given their lives for our country, too. But it can't be perfect. This poem is pointing out the more negative sides of society (not necessarily America itself) which would show up in any country given the chance for the negativities to develop. So I both semi-agree-with your standing and understand your viewpoint, but I recognize the other side to it, also. Thank you for sharing your ideas, withouthim. :)

I don't know if it was supposed to but the last line made me laugh...haha :)

I personally don't often say the end of the pledge of allegience [with liberty and justice for all] because in my mind, there really isn't liberty and justice for all, which was accurately portrayed in your poem.  Just thought I'd share my views on that.

ummm.... i like the idea behind this, but it seems rather sarcastic and not at all poetic. especially since there are only a few words you actually wrote in... hmm... maybe put one more lengthen it with another stanza of your own creation?

I do agree with SolvoAnimus on this. The poem is very clever, though.
