The blues and reds
Surround your being
Fire and ice meeting
Seems to be so freeing

The steam creates a fog
One impossible to see through
Though I am afraid
It is peaceful in this purple hue

Suddenly the fog evaporates
It is replaced by a night sky
One dotted with many stars
Like millions of watching eyes

Paranoia strikes
My heart starts to race
I take a single step forward
And the stars vanish into space

My feet start to run
Until the ground is gone
I hit the floor with a smack
And see your eyes once more

The reds and blues are back
The purple clouds make me sane
As fire and ice starts to sizzle
And makes beautiful music once again

The author's comments:
While texting this guy today I thought of how if we would date, what would happen. We have dated before and it didn't end too beautifully. To me he can convince you his one thing or another (Fire and ice), but I see him as who he is (the peaceful purple haze). The night sky represents us together and how I think it's beautiful, until the people around us (the stars) start to interfere. I am so afraid of how his family and my family will react to our relationship since this is the South and we are two different races. Also, of how his sisters hate me and my sister and friends do not like him. (Yes I know it kind of sounds like a Romeo and Juliet situation). My running is me fleeing from the situation, but as always he says something that makes me become grounded. In the end, I know that I shouldn't care what others think, if this is what we want, then no one else should have an input on it.

Thanks a bunch! I'm really happy I put the explanation up there now :) After I started looking at other's poems and I saw that they didn't have explanations and I was freaking out! Anyways, I'm going to try my best to write some more poems in the next week ^_^ I'd love for you to read them and the rest of my stuff!
