Where Were You?
I'm here again.
Chained down by my anger,
bound by my hopelessness,
Charged by my pain,
to find a purpose.
Where were you,
when I came tumbling down?
Where were you,
when my wings were broken,
with all my words unspoken,
you were close by,
and stood without a sound.
You aren't here at this trial,
weren't there at that tribulation.
If it ever comes back around,
I hope you realize what you did.
I wish you would understand.
I wish you no pain,
just to understand this...
Where were you,
when I came tumbling down?
Where were you,
when my wings were broken,
with all my words unspoken,
you were close by,
and stood without a sound.
I'm through with this now,
I can't keep it together anymore.
I'm sick of you acting like I owe you something.
I'm sick of the ways you can anger me with one word.
I'm no longer your beast to control.
Where were you,
when I came tumbling down?
Where were you,
when my wings were broken,
with all my words unspoken,
you were close by,
and stood without a sound.
