Our Time
The brown chair
In the basement of your house
The muffled sound of a movie playing
The much louder sound of your heartbeat
Arms wrapped close around me
I am home
Though never for long
I sense time slipping away
Unnervingly fast it would seem
I feel I am losing you
Soon the world will rip me out of my home
Throwing me back on the street
Whispering I am homeless
They lie
My home is here
Your energy around me making me alive and loved
But not for long time is running out
The mention of time will never pass between our lips
But the knowledge weighs us down like bricks
