"If Love Conquers All Then Why Is The World In Constant Chaos?" -Me

The wind knocks at my door, and the company of leaves surrounds me once more.
The cold hands wrap around me like a blanket, instead of warmth I am frozen to the core.
A coat around my body, and scarf around my face.
I walk and gaze at the people who are playing in the yard; children have such pure hearts.
Families and friends who come together as one.
Bonfires, s'mores, and even a big pile of leaves.
I spot a little girl who reminds myself of the child I used to be.
She smiles and she laughs, she falls down in the leaves.
Her mother calls her in though, she waves good-bye to friends now and they leave.
She smiles at her mother whose arms are stretched out before her, like the bare trees in autumn.

My walk I still continue, down the street I go.
Lines of orange, brown and red soon start to flow.
House after house I see pumpkins, and smell the fresh pies inside.
I look to the bright, sparkling stars above me.
Lost in thought; the wind pushes me on though.
Soon the lights of houses start to glow and the darkness surround me now.
A tree smacks me in the face, as if to say it's time to go home now.
So I walk back down the street, back home to my family.
Time has passed by so quickly, yesterday I was a child and today I am an adult.
When I get to my door I take off my coat, unravel my scarf and sigh; hot chocolate, a blanket and book, good night.
