weights pull my eyelids to the ground

as I count a thousand excuses to sleep

the world still turns when I’m not around

so what point is there in trying to keep

up with the crowds of rushing feet

when all I want to do is be alone

really we’re all just pieces of meat

running until we’re nothing but bone
