"Sometimes people put up walls, not to keep others out. but to see who cares enough to tear them down."

I’m sleeping
The trees seem to whisper
Until they see me
Until the recognise me
Then they wake from my slumber
Then they greet me
Causing a path for me
Leading me to him

I come to the spot
The poor old maple
He may be ill but he still welcomes me
He still knows me
I put one foot on his swollen side
I place myself above his decaying fingers
I feel the height of his branches
I may only be a few feet higher but i feel better
I feel like a hawk
Looking, watching, scanning
I keep sensing life like someone tossing and turning before the go into a deep sleep

I like it here
I feel free here
I know this place
I feel like here I could rule
Like here I could live in peace
I feel like there’s no trouble here
Like I could spend my whole life listening interpreting the trees
I could stay here until
The oaks are my brothers
The beaches are my sisters
And the squirrels are my friends
I want to curl up in my brother’s arms and sleep knowing
I have a family watching me
Knowing I’m safe
