The sand passes
Through your toes
When you are walking
Down the beach,
With each step
Matching the beat
Of the drums,
And your hips
Bounce side to side
With each strum
Of the guitar.

The warm ocean breeze
Whistling back the memory
Of the child
Before the car came to
A screeching halt,
And the glass flying
Through the air
And hits the ground
Like a breaking bottle,
With the mother screaming
On the street corner.

And the sound of the
Waves splashing against
The brown sand
Duets with the calm voice,
And the notes glide through
The air like birds,
And the bad memories
Turn into good ones
