It might seem odd to you
that clocks have become an eerie thing to me.
To measure time is like measuring life
It just can't be done.
If someone was to put a clock in your hand
would you want to know when its tick tick ticking were to end?
Would you count down the days preparing to replace its battery?
what if it ran out of chances
and its shell shattered into pieces?
Would you place the clock on your wrist?
So that it wouldn't go amiss?
A special place close to your heart.
What happens when its wheels and clogs come to a stop and the tick tick ticking were to cease?
It would be a gift of bliss
For that tick tick ticking creeps upon me and leaves marks upon my skin.
If it were up to me I would place my clock upon the mantle place
so that some how some way I might gain some peace.
The ticking time bomb would night be chained to my heart
but set aside so that one might enjoy their time and only so often be reminded by the chiming in the distance
So to value this gift and remember to dust it off.
Death bells may toll
But wedding bells still ring
Bag pipes wail and moan to morn
as well as strike up a tune for a jig once in the mood.
So let's make today a happy day
Since we have a life to stay.
Just keep in mind not to waste your time away.

This is dedicated to the people I have lost in my life and for everyone else who have also lost someone they love. Recently I have witnessed to kinds of deaths the one where it happens all of a sudden without any warning which would be the clock on the mantle place. Then there is the kind of death where there is only a matter of time left and it feels like the days are just counting down that is the watch on your wrist. The week my great uncle and my friends sister died I happened to be wearing a watch on my wrist and I couldn't stand the sound of the clock ticking away like a time bomb. I also couldn't help but think of the movie ALL DOGS GO TO HEAVEN. That is where I got my inspiration from so I hope you all enjoy it and God Bless everyone especially those who recently fell victim to Hurricane Sandy. <3
