Angels kiss me softly
Lullaby of the saints
Pretty voices mingling with
The sunlight on my face
Wrapped in ribbons of safety
I promise to be good
In the midst of a chaos that never dies.
I was given so much
Look up now from your dirty floor
Let the showers from the virgin clouds wash away the ugly
The days you want desperately to forget
You bury them under your footsteps
You open your tender, crimson eyes
And breathe and mangled breathe.
You find faith.
