The Day
Once it was said that we would be friends forever
Laughter would came like sunshine
Pouring out to light up the world
For those moments it was as if nothing could go wrong
Until. That. Day.
That day stretched onto weeks,
And then Months,
Then years
The sun never shined in that shadowed time
Misery filled the atmosphere
Reminded of the sunny days made her shutter with disgust
Knowing that if she stepped back out into that gloomy sunshine her pain would only begin again
For she knows that they can’t see the results of their selfish ambitions
Pulling her back into their rays, only when storm clouds brew
Those clouds are only the start
For she knows they’ll only grow bigger and stronger,
Until they reach a hurricane level
Whipping her around like a baby doll
Causing only more pain and agony,
But in the mist of those storms formed a dream,
A dream to make it all stop and go away,
A dream to say enough is enough
To crawl out of that storm with her head held high,
And with a heart filled with belonging and pride
