Confidence in the Sun
The pendulum of the sun and the moon
Does not retire in our days

 The moon keeps a secret
The sun tells the truth with rays

When a day goes sour and is injected with gloom
 And sanity begins to fray

By the time I’m done with the day
I think it is best if night covers it all away

But whenever I feel glum and dumb, stupid or as bleak as a tomb
I have confidence in the sun anew, the governor of the day

I am thankful for a roof on my head
I am thankful for on my plate food lay

And once again thankful for the sun
 Start of a new day
