Goodbye
I hear your gentle whisper,
words soothing as a calm oceans mist.
Your touch awakens my every sense.
Soulful hazel eyes gaze at my body.
I don't feel insecure.
I feel love,
I feel warmth,
I feel perfect.
My hands rests on your chest with your heart beating faster.
Your soft lips brush my had,
then my neck,
finding their way to my own.
Every kiss is filled with more emotion, more passion, more life,
as your hands caress the small of my back,
keeping me safe,
keeping me secure.
A breathy sigh escapes your pursed mouth.
I look up through the waves of tangled caramel hair that keep your deep eyes hidden.
"I love you."
I blink once.
I blink twice.
The room begins to fill with haze as I cling to you, my nails digging into your arms, my legs wrapped around you tight.
Your eyes fill with remorse, sympathy, and longing.
I scream, "I love you."
The wind nestles the trees around me.
I open my eyes, startled.
They fall into a grey stone, etched with beautiful script.
Your name.
