In the Hammock
Nature caught me
with a net,
between the two
who bravely stood,
whose duty was
to lift,
to raise,
those brothers two,
connected by
the rope,
the hooks,
the sweat,
the love,
and hope combined.
I lay,
connected
to the earth
in a chain
of wonder,
of magic,
with the wind
whispering
into my ear,
a messenger
of serenity,
of tranquility,
of harmony,
coming from
a dream of peace.
Watching
with my eyes
closed,
feeling
with my fingers
numb,
I wondered-
Could being trapped
between two brothers,
between Sky
and its magnificence
and Earth
and its wisdom,
between dream
and reality,
could it
really,
truly,
surely,
feel
so free?
