Imperfection.

She sees every morning in the mirror.
Her enemy staring back at her
Straight through her big brown eyes
Mocking her, laughing, smirking.
Ears are too big, nose to long,
Lips to thin, too short, nothing there.

Imperfection

So she coats her face to hide her flesh.
Outlines her eye lids with charcoal black
Crystal Mauve Pink across her lips

Imperfection.

Blonde, straight hair,
highlighted, tampered,
Brushed and styled
Teeth whiten to shine

Imperfection.

No low cut tops, nothings there
Standing straight still falls too short
Stylish clothes only the best

Imperfection.

Straight A's but not 100%
3.8 GPA needs to be 4.0
Missed 3 out of 75
Disappointing, horrible disgrace!

Imperfection.

Failing every day to be something shes not.
Not succeeding to her standards
Trying to hard, when she falls
There is no getting back up
Imperfection then turns to Perfection.

This is a reflection about me. I try too hard to be something I am not, I cover my face with make-up to try to be beautiful. When that is my mistake. I am so why try. Why pretend. I look this way for a reason God made me this way I am 17 and my whole life i have tried to be absolute PERFECT. When in reality your perfect when you fail when your different when you are yourself.

This is really good. I totally know what you mean, too. I'm particularly hard on myself when it comes to grades. Honestly though, I push myself to the point where I have to just sit back and relax. Striving for perfection leads to madness. You seem like a very smart person, though. You realize what you're doing and how it's unrealistic. Please try not to be so hard on yourself. It's futile; we are human. We were created to be beautifully imperfect.
