The petals break
On a countdown from three
With a withered wind
And a broken seed.

The small shades of pallor
Violet,
Emerald,
Sapphire blue;
Are all in accordance
with old times and new.

As it withers away
You come soon to see
It is not but a plant
But has a heart as we.

This is a poem about a small iris flower that turns out to be something much more than meets the eye. In my mind, this small iris flower with emerald leaves and violet and blue petals is to represent a person, to show that everybody is more than meets the eye.
