Divorce
5 a.m., on the plane, ready
Mom and dad both present
Something’s changed, not so lovely
9 years, somewhere pleasant
Maui making fun memories
Sandy beaches, sunny
Family split in two parties,
Sad dad yet still funny.
Never thought it would be like this
9 years and broken heart
Young child thought love meant just a kiss
Why are they still apart?
Years gone, tears still fall to the floor
Keep asking myself why?
I just want to go out the door.
All he did was a lie.
Daddy’s lil girl won’t even talk
My heart wants daddy back
Crying, but my hearts still in shock
Why’s life just an attack?
God made you like a piece of art
Nothing short from a praise
God built you and me from his heart
Never cease to amaze.
