It’s you that they never see
They don’t see that there’s a you and me

The only thing they know
Or didn’t know
Is long gone
Along with the other self that I never shared

Dusted off my old blue jeans
Took off with the other me
Neither of which they have seen

Because they’re so blind
They think they can see
That there actually is
A real me

But in reality I’m just an empty shell
That’s never been filled
The other me
Has just been sitting still

Waiting to be awakened
On a day that will never come

Flew down the path of being here
Going, going, gone
Air fills the empty place
The place that was really never filled
My body’s been there
But it’s always been vacant

The hollow, empty soul
Unfilled areas of emotion
Blank face through pain, anger, sadness
Meaningless life of physically but not mentally being there

I’ve run away with the other me
The one you never knew
I’m just a body now
No soul you thought you knew
I’ve never been myself
And I’m so hollow inside
Wind whistles inside my soul
When it passes through

I could cry

But I can’t
My soul, everything; it’s just dead
I’m not here anymore
I’ve been gone for a long time
The void in me sings louder than any emotion I've
never had
