The author's comments:
This piece is merely a part of a long running project to depict the story of a novel through poetry instead of prose. This piece (the first poem in chapter II) comments on the inability of the main character (Owl Eyes) to accept sympathy. It shows how she thrives in her sad situation, and even those who love her, are only hindering her development as her own person.
