The Tiffany's ring slid down my finger,
size zero pants fed all judgement.

Rumors surfaced,
circulated through minds.

The truth concealed
in fragile bones.

The marching boots with rifles ready.
The stormed house, stained nightgowns.

Father's views contradicted many,
endorsed by red and black signs.

My starving bones stood by
even when fears vanished.

The author's comments:
This poem is about the early life of Audrey Hepburn. When she was young, World War II was occurring. Her father was a supporter of the Nazi party and eventually left to journey them. As a result of the her father's absence and the affects of war, Audrey became very sickly and skinny which ended up staying with her the rest of her live.
