Yes, after the journey
out of the forest, they load
poor Beauty with glittering
stones, satins
never suspecting that she felt
the wood and sky
more than a gold coin-

but then one crimson drop
forces her lids to shut
for one thousand years...
Reveries in that space of time
came of earth whispers, trees,
and a family she truly felt in her
heart, and could not deny-

Only to wake, breathe
finding a stranger claiming love
Well of course she wept, and
all the harder when
they handed her a tiara saying:
"Now isn't that better?"

Huh---a new different twist on an old fairy tale. I like it! No one ever thinks of the "in-between" parts to a story---everyone's like "when does the prince come and save her?" or something. Cool~
