Wishing the Impossible
The light glints off of the
Window, white as the snow.
Night has crept over the world
Putting all to sleep, but one.
He sits, staring out at the light.
Lost in the idea of a perfect life.
A life without tragedy, hatred,
Bullies. One where everyone
Cares and nobody hurts.
And maybe even a life
Without all of the pain
He feels day after day.
But then he's held back
By his own disbelief.
How could he have wasted
All that time wishing
For something so impossible?
