&ldquo; If ever there is tomorrow when we&#039;re not together... there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we&#039;re apart... I&#039;ll always be with you.&rdquo; <br /> ― A.A. Milne

The war is won,
and a celebration in Times Square
brings two unlikely people together.

Surrounded by buildings on the right and on the left,
Surrounded by thousands of people,
The streets littered with the masses.
The noise almost unbearable…
but not quite.
For there is happiness in the air,
surrounding everyone in the square,
stretching as far as the
big blue Atlantic, to the dark stormy Pacific.

On the street together,
almost completely unnoticed.
People passing by
take in the happy couple.
Smiling faces look on,
and something about the view before them
tugs on their heartstrings.
It causes a ripple of smiles
rushing through the crowd gathered in the square.

This feeling,
Like butterflies in your stomach,
Like Rice Crispies on your taste buds,
Like the light in her eyes,
Like the rays on his skin.
These two people now experience.

And the couple,
oblivious of the effect they are having,
continue on,
as though they have not a care in the world.
Thinking nothing of the thousands of people strolling past.

But what they do not know,
is that they shall be remembered for years to come.
For someone notices, and
a camera freezes the moment in time,
preserving the memory for years to come.

I wrote this off of a picture from World War II. I hope that people can picture what that photo may look like when they read it.
