Romance
His fingers slip between mine,
 the nooks are-
 drawing some kind of closure.
 As if like magic,
opposing dilemmas cleave into one wholesome resolution.
Satin ribbons gathering to tie a simplistic yet intricate braid, with
 - the soft tuft of a child’s hair.
Mending of the gaping crevices on the sidewalk,
 - the aftermath of a natural disaster.
Closing the pages of a heart-felt novel, leaving
-the mind swarming with fantasies galore.
Fragments of a splintered bathroom mirror glue together, after
-being punched into a thousand shards by a frustrated teen.

He’s so close to me that I hear our laboured breaths heaving
 chest rising, heartbeat accelerating.
We hold each onto other. Don’t slip away-
 we’re only a kiss apart,
a kiss to build a dream on.
