First Time
10 years old
Sitting at the side of a bed
It’s a dark room
Breathing in and out
You can hear him breathing
Softly, slowly
He lies there with eyes closed tight
Wiling the feeling to go away
He’s falling
But there is no ground beneath him
Just the bed
He is lying there
Falling, spinning in circles
But just lying there
Trying not to move
But a tear falls as he is falling
Down my cheek onto my fingers
Try to keep strong
For soon it will go away
The dizzy feeling of the first attack
The falling, but still lying there
On the bed
Right beside me
Where I keep him company
In a dark room
Holding his hand
This is just the first time
