“Every thorn is just part of the stem to a beautiful rose” - R.R.

She sits, hidden from the wind
Only the pages affected by its power.
Rolling mountains bowl behind her
Making thunder claps like gentle drums.
She opens to the next chapter
This one about a place
Only real in imagination.
She reads the first line.
And the world stops.
The leaves do not fall
The grass no longer sways
The wind, gone into hiding
And the mountains fall asleep.
Not even the clouds roll through the sky.
Just a portrait of a girl,
Lost in a book.
