I’ve got one toe on the line
Pointed in your direction
But my other foot is behind me
Hesitant to move
I’ve got one leg bent and ready
To leap in your direction
But my other leg is stiff with panic
My knees are shaking
I’ve got my sight set on you
Eyes resting in your direction
But I’m blinking away tears
Scared of what I cannot see
I’m frightened to commit
Of what it means
Of what will change
Of hurting you
Of hurting me
I jump.
Will you catch me?
