Liar's Love
You were the exception.
As most things in my life you started with a mistake,
But you evolved into a great one.
Slowly but surely like grass growing,
You became something more,
The illustrious me, with the mysterious you
Became to come to mind, why couldn’t we be?
Because I lied.
As the days went on, I lied and lied.
You became an addiction and the lies amounted.
We developed a bond, one of those only imaginable
In less time than it took for me to realize, it was wrong.
We related to each other on so many levels, we were in sync with each other.
After months, we decided we were through, but don’t get me wrong,
I will always love you.
You weren’t perfect but, over everything you did for me,
That you became. To stop seeing imperfections is to love.
You evolved into more, and more that I always adored.
You treated me right, a way I do and did not deserve.
Once you are together all the time, sharing secrets, having those
Conversations at 3AM that are only acceptable between lovers who are best friends
You want to move on, but you can’t let go.
Sometimes I wonder how we happened, why it would.
Sometimes I wonder how we came to love each other,
Sometimes I wonder why we decided to stop.
Sometimes I feel I should have realized me lying would lose you.
Sometimes I wished you’d still say you loved me.
But I never regretted it; and
I will always love you.
